Portugal is one of the oldest wine producing countries in the world, as historic research has demonstrated. The country has 14 demarcated wine regions from the Minho in the north to the Algarve in the south, not forgetting the Azores and Madeira islands. We have nearly 300 endiginous grape varieties, some of which only grow here in Portugal, giving our wines a truly unique flavour and character, unlike any other you’ll find in the world.
If you are a wine and food enthusiast wanting to know more about the culture of wine, and at the same time discover the different regions of the country off the beaten track, this is your dream trip.
On this journey, we will explore the most important wines regions in Portugal like the Douro and the Dão river valleys, and others that are less known and commercial.
Drink and food are an essential part of the Portuguese culture and way of life, so we will also try the best local delicacies to pair with the wines.
Many wine estates across the country also provide excellent accommodation for visitors. This means that wherever possible we’ll eat, drink and sleep in the same place, to let our guests fully enjoy the experience, without having to drive after the gastronomic feast.
